“What does it mean to be saved?”
and
“How is a person saved?”
No other information is more important to mankind! What does it mean to be saved? “Being saved” means that we have been delivered from the condemnation of our sin and God’s wrath upon our sin. The Bible tells us in John 3:17-18 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Notice that in verse 18 it says that we are condemned already because we have not believed. It is not necessary to commit an especially bad sin in order to be condemned. The Bible tells us that God sees all people as sinners, because we have all have sinned in some way! Romans 3:23 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; How is a person saved? The formula for salvation is a simple one. It is, to believe in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sin and for salvation. Many people incorrectly believe that they will go to heaven because they have been good enough to deserve it however, the Bible tells us that salvation is a free gift! Ephesians 2:8-9 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. Salvation is a gift given to us by God, if we will receive it! Jesus paid the price for this gift when He died on the cross. 1 John 4:9-10 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Jesus is the only source of salvation! Acts 4:12 12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” If God has made you aware that you are a sinner and that you need the salvation that He has provided through His Son Jesus Christ, you need to turn from your sins and pray to Jesus with faith in your heart for forgiveness and salvation. If you will believe in Jesus for salvation you will be saved! Rom 10:10&13 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness… 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.” 1.
