Steve Miller – Our Pastor
Born and raised in Southern California, Steve Miller was saved at the age 15, and was later baptized by the Antioch Landmark Missionary Baptist church of Arlington. Our pastor surrendered to the ministry at the age of 20, and was licensed by the Antioch Landmark Missionary Baptist Church of California. He pursued his ministerial studies at the California Missionary Baptist Institute in Bellflower, California. In 1984, he married his beautiful wife Bobbi Love, and joined the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church of Santa Ana, California. The following year, he answered the call to pastor the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church of Oakhurst California, and was ordained by the Landmark Missionary Baptist of Santa Ana. In 1990, Steve Miller answered the call, once again, to pastor the Grace Missionary Baptist Church of Redondo Beach, California, where he currently serves as the pastor.
Ron Whittemore – Deacon
Ron Whittemore was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas. His parents belonged to the Mountain Springs Missionary Baptist Church at the time. When he was 10 months old his family moved to La Habra Heights, California and attended the First Missionary Baptist Church of La Habra. At the age of 12 he was saved and was soon baptized by the church in La Habra. While a member there he received some excellent teaching from his parents, his uncle (Dewey Whittemore), and many pastors including J.L. Wisdom, Earl White, Jesse Scott (his father in law), and D.B. Wheeler. Ron and Wilma Scott were married in 1968 and they have a daughter, Erin. In 1980, Ron and Wilma joined the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Whittier, California. He was ordained there to the office of deacon in 1985. In 2000, Ron and Wilma joined the Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Redondo Beach along with their daughter Erin and her husband Darryl Browning. The family has continued to serve the Lord in the Grace church since then. He also serves as a regular Bible teacher on Sundays. Ron is a graduate of California State University in Fullerton and has a BA degree in Finance. He his retired from Southern California Edison and currently works for the City of Industry.
Sharon George – Clerk
Sharon grew up in Modesto, California, and attended the Airport Missionary Baptist Church, a church that both of her grandfather’s pastored. She was saved on a Sunday morning December 9, 1956, and baptized that evening. Since her move to Southern California in 1967, she has served in the following churches; First Missionary Baptist Church in La Habra, Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Santa Ana, and Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Anaheim. She has been a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church since May 1998, and has served as clerk, musician, and Sunday School Teacher.
Taso Stavropoulos – Worship Leader/License Minister
Taso grew up in Torrance, California, and was saved at the age of 14. He was baptized by the Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Redondo Beach, and has continued to be member since 1993. He attended San Francisco State University, and holds Bachelor degrees in History and Creative Writing, and a minor in Music. Taso has served as our Worship Leader for the past ten years. He also is a regular Bible Teacher on Sundays.
